Fund Drive "10 N 1" Launched for New National Office

Concept drawing of the future REACH national office.Building a home for REACH entered its second phase when "10 N 1" Fund Drive was launched at the National Leadership Conference on April 29, 2007. The goal is to raise P10 million (US$ 220,000) in one year to build a four-floor multipurpose office and ministry center.

"After thirty years of building lives and communities, we are ready to build a home for REACH," says Fred Liongoren.

Building committee chairwoman Norma Liongoren told the gathering of leaders, "I’m sure God will give us a permanent home here."

However, building a home is not just about bricks and mortar, it is about people and calling them to a lifestyle of radical discipleship in Jesus Christ, which impacts communities.

Site of future national office and center in the Philippines.The second phase follows Oplan Bayanihan ng REACH, launched during the 2003 national conference in Silang, Cavite, to locate property. God answered the ministry's prayers through the Gozon family's willingness to donate the use of land at 23 Lanzones St. (see photo to the left) in Quezon City. The agreement was signed on December 19, 2006.

Oyay Jimenez told the leaders that members and friends who support the vision of REACH's disciple making ministry are encouraged to set a goal by faith and pledge by God's grace to give the committed amount in one year.

However, gifts should be above their present tithe. This money is already committed to God’s work and shouldn't be taken away from other parts of God's Kingdom work, Oyay said.

Even people on a tight budget are invited to participate. A person can forego a regular luxury such as a coffee or burger, sell items for recycling or have a garage sale to clear out rarely used items. These suggestions can be good for one’s health, the environment, and help someone else who might need what we are not using often. Items donated in kind for the ministry to sell are also welcome.

Since REACH is a Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) accredited donee institution, all gifts are 100% tax deductible.

"Giving doesn't depend on your current resources. If you want to give to God’s Kingdom, to His service, you set a goal. Ask God to help you fulfill that commitment. God will supply that money. Giving isn't about our resources, but opening the channels of blessings of God from Heaven. It's all about God, it's not me," Oyay Jimenez said.

Some members of the Gozon family have been involved in Bible study with Norma, Alma Francisco, and Bel Lai in previous years. One of the, Flor Gozon Tarriela, a respected Filipino banker, facilitated the lease.

The Gozon Foundation has made similar agreements with other Christian organizations over the years, leasing land for ministry purposes.

The lot is leased to REACH on condition that it is used to:

  • Develop and equip people to become disciples of Jesus Christ;
  • Cultivate and employ resources to achieve maximum impact so the community of disciples can minister to the spiritual, physical, and social needs of members and society at large;
  • Undertake specific activities to develop, facilitate and sustain a contextualized, infiltrative disciple making movement, including socio-economic projects;
  • Serve as a hub to evangelize, establish, equip, and send disciples into the harvest fields throughout the world to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ; and
  • Help men, women and children see and understand the beauty, goodness and love of our Lord Jesus Christ to the end that they are inspired to reflect such beauty, goodness, and love in their own lives.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
-Matthew 28:18-20
