Batac,
Ilocos Norte is located in the northwest corner of
the Philippines. It is the birthplace of the former president,
Ferdinand Marcos. Located in the city is the Mariano Marcos
State University (MMSU) named for the former president's father.
The campus ministry is supervised by Mars Gabriel and assisted
by Dr. Aida Solsoloy and Tom Ubiña. A men's training
apartment led by Vincent Fortela is located in the Solsoloy's
compound. The apartment has been instrumental in shaping values
and the character of young men. Some women seeking additional
training have stayed in the Solsoloy house, to be actively
involved in ministry planning of activities. The ministry
has offered tutorials and seminars as a means to reach students
with the gospel, as well as, join campus sports fest with
Christian groups and a graduation party for parents and graduates.
Bayombong,
Nueva Vizcaya is nestled in a valley between two ranges
of mountains in northern Luzon and located not far from the
famed Banaue Rice Terraces. The Nueva Vizcaya State Institute
of Technology was recently converted into the Nueva Vizcaya
State University (NVSU). A close-knit group of young disciples
have built a strong ministry of Bible study, weekly fellowship,
biweekly discipleship series, prayer meeting, biweekly personal
evangelism, training apartments, semesteral day in prayer
and monthly sunrise worship. Additionally, the ministry operates
a tutorial center in town. Many graduates of the ministry
are found through out the province. Jonathan Nuestro leads
the ministry and Elbert and Pen Sana contribute greatly in
giving direction.
Bayugan,
Agusan del Sur is a short distance from Butuan City.
A high school ministry developed around the life of a teacher,
Susan Versoza, a REACH-trained disciple and her friend, Merly
Iray. The ministry consists of Bible studies and some fellowship
and occasional trips to tribal areas.

Butuan
City is the former home of Gary and Noelle Miller,
RMI missionaries to Mindanao, now located in Davao City. The
ministry is led by Maxie and Joylene Tiguman and three ministry
interns. The ministry makes itself visible through assisting
in-coming freshmen with registration at Northern Mindanao
State Institute of Science and Technology (NORMISIST) and
offering housing led by the interns. A variety of outreaches
to collegiate and the community include Bible studies, training
apartment, weekly fellowship and the Servant Team prayer meetings.
Cabagan, Isabela
is located in northeastern Luzon of the Philippine Archipelago.
The ministry at Isabela State University (ISU) was pioneered
in 1980 by Paul Pasicolan (now Ph.D.) who discipled most of
the present leaders. Severe persecution in the early days
of the ministry has produced solid and committed disciples.
Two of those disciples, Mercy Beltran and Cynthia Ubiña
are local missionaries now pioneering and strengthening ministries
in Mindanao. Ministries include Adult, Collegiate, High School,
Kids and a Consumers Cooperative. Elyo Tarun recently took
over the reigns of the Cabagan leadership team from Manny
Beltran.
Catanduanes
is an island on the southeastern side of Luzon. It often bares
the brunt of high winds and heavy rains during the typhoon
season. The ministry is relatively new. Marionito Donato is
a graduate of ISU in Cabagan who was assigned to work on the
island for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
The ministry is primarily a high school ministry. It is the
outgrowth of a church Mar was left in charge of when a missionary
returned to the U.S. A discipleship seminar helped to train
young Christians and through a summer camp, a number of high
school students were led to the Lord and provided the ground
work for the new ministry. It is hoped that an intern can
go there to assist and that the local leaders can receive
additional training in discipleship.

Central Mindanao
Development Compact is a regional coalition of mature
REACH lay leaders with significant community ministries in
Kabacan, Pikit, Koronadal and General Santos plus an ethnic
ministry on a nearby island. They have a heart for the poor
and direct most of their efforts toward them.
Davao City
is a major commercial center in the southern Philippines on
the island of Mindanao. Land-wise it is the largest city in
the world. Nars and Tess Lozada, who also started Abba's Child
School, lead the professional's ministry. Local missionary,
Cynthia Ubiña, started new campus ministries in the
University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) and the University
of Mindanao (UM). Personal evangelism, Bible studies, discipleship
and Days of Prayer are emphasized. A savings-based association
was also established in the area.
Los Baños
is located a few hours south of Metro Manila in a fast growing
commercial area. It is also known for its many hot springs.
Historically the University of the Philippines in Los Baños
(UPLB) has been a strategic training ground in the ministry.
Many folks come for graduate studies then return to their
provinces to teach at local institutions or research facilities.
The ministry has small group Bible studies for undergraduates
and professionals. There is a group fellowship every two weeks
and a monthly prayer meeting. Rex Cruz currently leads the
ministry.
Marawi City
is the home of the Mindanao State University (MSU). Many of
its graduates can be found throughout Mindanao, making it
a strategic base of operation. Jim and Ann Ouano; local missionary,
Mercy Beltran; and several interns lead the collegiate ministry.
The community and the university is a unique mixture of Christian
and Muslim students. The ministry conducts Bible studies,
intercessory prayer meetings, several discipleship apartments,
Sunday fellowship, and Saturday group quiet times. The training
apartments have experienced overwhelming growth in the past
few years, exposing many students to the gospel and training
them in discipleship. In addition, the students are taught
to participate in income generating projects and in the cooperative
and savings groups. Committed interns have increased the ministry
workforce. The ministry is establishing an outreach in the
nearby city of Cagayan De Oro.

Metro Manila
is the political, historical and economic hub of the Philippines
and home for the REACH, Inc. office. A mature leadership team
ministers to Professionals, Couples, Collegiate, High Schoolers
and Kids. Ministry is conducted through small groups, one-on-one
evangelism, follow-up, a weekly collegiate fellowship and
a monthly general fellowship of all ages. The high school
and collegiate ministries have been revitalized in recent
years. Bibles studies are conducted for students of two local
high schools where REACH members are employed. Graduating
high school students of the ministry are spread out among
the numerous colleges and universities located in the metropolis.
There are contacts at the University of the Philippines (UP)
and plans to establish a formal ministry at the Polytechnic
University of the Philippines (PUP) starting in June of 2004.
Ed and Gloria Jimenez are senior members of the ministry and
served as past Chairs of the Board. Daisy Miguel is the current
planning team coordinator for the Metro Manila ministry and
recently joined the REACH staff as office manager after taking
early retirement. The Resources Development Cooperative, through
which REACH's ministry to the poor is operated, serves as
the network for cooperatives that will be established in each
ministry area.
Muñoz, Nueva
Ecija is situated in the hot climate of the central
plains of Luzon, which is the rice granary of the Philippines.
The recent location of many agricultural research facilities
and bureaus has turned the small university town into a Science
City in 2001. The ministry has concentrated on Professionals
(mostly employed at the Bureau of Post Harvest Research and
Extension), Couples and Collegiates at the Central Luzon State
University (CLSU). Local missionary, Ruby Santiago is a product
of the ministry and serves there as well. Gene Tolentino leads
the ministry.
